Beiorte Cidade 2021
Region: Dão
Producer: Beiorte
The vineyard for this Beiorte Cidade is located at an altitude of 500m and is oriented north, so it is never exposed to heat.
João harvested the grapes by hand at the end of September 2021 and let them macerate for 10 days in an open fermentation vat after destemming. The fermentation took place solely on the basis of the grape's own yeasts and without temperature control.
After natural clarification, bottling took place in August 2023.

Waar serveer je ’m bij?
João Costa started out in 2020 with a single 1.2-hectare vineyard in the south of the Dão, near Oliveira do Hospital, planted in 1960. A field blend, then, as was done at the time. Fermented in an open vat, fifteen months in old casks and a further six months in steel before bottling — that last step lets the wine settle rather than shaping it further.
Veal stew with young carrots and parsley
Grilled pork chops with thyme
Serveren op 15–16 °C
João Costa is a local man who grew up with wine. 2 ha vineyard, making red Dão just the way we like it: elegant and full of character.
