This Portugal Collection Exclusive was assembled by us in the cellars of Soalheiro, under the watchful eye of Luis Cerdeira.When we shared with Luis our thirst for "maximum refreshment in a tight suit", he opened the door of his cellar and allowed us to start working with the available harvest of 2018. The result is this Alma, a blend of Alvarinho and Loureiro.

We blended this cuvée ourselves, in the cellars of Soalheiro and under the eye of Luis Cerdeira: a Portugal Collection Exclusive with maximum refreshment as the brief. Alvarinho and Loureiro, all in steel until bottling, no oak. Alvarinho gives the core and the minerality, Loureiro the floral nose — and because nothing sits in between, you hear exactly those two. Thirteen degrees of alcohol gives just a little more body than you expect from a Vinho Verde.

In 1982, the Cerdeira family was the first to rejoin the tradition of quality wines based on the local Alvarinho grape. João Antonio Cerdeira planted the first vines to that end in 1974, and it is those old vines that still provide the grapes for the top cuvée 'Primeiras Vinhas' today.
