Waar serveer je ’m bij?
The same old field vineyards as the 2024, but with a few extra years in bottle, and that changes the conversation at the table. The fruit has shifted towards apricot and dried peach, something waxy has come in and the oak ageing has been entirely absorbed into the wine. The high acidity of António Madeira's vineyards is still there, and that is exactly why this vintage is now at its best rather than past its peak. Rich, mineral and long — and thanks to that acidity, not a heavy wine.
Pan-fried plaice with brown shrimp
Fish pot with mussels, leek and cream

Antonio Madeira grew up in Paris, but became completely hooked on the Dão during summer vacations with his grandparents. In 2010, he decided to look for old vineyards in the region and found refuge in the cellars at Alvaro Castro (Saes/Pellada) to make his first wines.
