D'Oliveira Malvazia 1992
Region: Madeira
Producer: Pereira D'Oliveira Vinhos Lda.
Why we chose this wine
1992: the year Barcelona hosted the Olympic Games. A Madeira from this vintage is a living piece of history — a wine that has been ageing for generations, owing its character to decades of patient cask maturation.
Malvasia
The sweetest of all and mainly found in Santana and Sao jorge in the north with 36 hectares planted. It is definitely the most luscious grape with a nice balance between sweet and acid.

Bottled 2021.
Very, very smoky! Almost whisky-like. Smoked tobacco leaves, smoked cheese and membrillo. Quirky, curious, challenging, and astounding. My mouth is just filled with fireworks and wonder. Quince and smoke and tobacco leaf and nutmeg and so, so much energy. A tessellation of complexity, of form, of finely interlocking crystalline glory.
