Algarve
Most people know the Algarve for its beaches, not its wine, and that is not unfair: it is a young wine region that long produced mainly for local restaurants. But there is a small group of growers taking it seriously, with attention for the native Negra Mole and plots close enough to the sea to temper the heat. Our selection is deliberately small. What is here is here because it is worth it — not because the region had to be on the list.
