Waar serveer je ’m bij?
From the Douro Superior, the hottest and driest part of the valley, and yet a wine that floats on acidity: Arinto and Rabigato are the two varieties that hold on to their freshness there, and that is exactly why Vale Meão chooses them. Our technical sheets list no vinification for this cuvée — what we do know is what this house does everywhere: gentle pressing, cool fermentation, and no oak where it adds nothing. Weight ten with complexity ten, and a salty length that is typical of the Douro Superior.

“The 2023 Monte Meão Branco is a brand new white from older vines on the property and produced with 70% Arinto and 30% Rabigato, fermented and matured in barrel. It's been blended and is currently in tank waiting for bottling (but they may age it for a little longer in oak vats). It has integrated oak and a round palate with very good balance. It's clean, serious and has some austerity and very good freshness, finesse and length. It finishes dry, with a chalky and tasty feeling.”
The wines of Vale Meão are considered the absolute best in the Douro and we invite you to discover them. You will not only taste tasty and characterful wines, but you will also receive 150 years of fascinating history just like that.
