Barbeito, Single Harvest 2008, Med Dry, 0,5l
Region: Madeira
Producer: Vinhos Barbeito
Why we chose this wine
2008: the year Madeira-born Cristiano Ronaldo won his first Ballon d'Or. A Madeira from this vintage carries that year within it: a wine that has matured patiently in cask for years. This Single Harvest captures the unique character of that year's harvest in a single bottle — not a blend, but a pure snapshot of 2008.
| Volume | 50.0 cl. |
| Grape Variety | 100% Tinta Negra, harvested from vineyards on both Madeira's south and north coasts. |
| Drinking window | Ready to drink now. |
| Serveren bij | Excellent as an aperitif, served between 12-13°C. Delicious with olives, toasted almonds, marinated fish, salads or cheese. |
| Alc. | 19.0% |
| Vinification | A Single Harvest from one specific vintage: the grapes were picked early for extra acidity and processed using continuous pressing. Fermentation was arrested by fortification (mutage) with wine spirit at the medium-dry level (around 62 g/l residual sugar). |
| Ripening | Aged using the traditional canteiro method in old French oak casks, under moderate temperatures, since March 2009. |
