Safado
In 2017 Emanuel Frutuoso started a small wine project with old vineyards near Cadaval. He bottles his wines under the 'Safado' label.
Emanuel is the best friend of Rodrigo Filipe (Humus), with whom he also runs the 'Flui' project.
Safado is available in Belgium from The Portugal Collection. We import the wines directly and deliver throughout Belgium.
Like most of his neighbours, Emanuel is a man of the sea, a surfer through and through. When good waves are on the way, he settles in the dunes with a book and waits until the sea is ready. That sums Emanuel up: a calm man who lives close to nature.
That is reflected in the wines he makes: uncomplicated, pure expressions of their terroir.
Emanuel works very hard in his vineyards all year round and then lets his grapes speak. Once the harvest is in, he acts as a modest guide and imposes no 'style' on his grapes.
He works entirely naturally in the cellar, just as in the vineyard.
