“The 2022 Rosado Reservado displays a salmon color, which can be appreciated thanks to its clear bottle. The rosé was discontinued in the 1970s, and they resumed production in 2016 with a mix grapes from Bairrada and Dão, mostly Baga from Bairrada and Touriga Nacional from Dão. It is produced like the white, with the first-press juice decanted in stainless steel and then all of the juice fermented in new and used 300-liter barrels, where it matured for 15 months. The nose is expressive and closer to the white than the red; it is subtle but with cellar notes, hints of dry flowers and some spice and forest floor despite its youth. It's a rosé of complexity and depth, with 12.2% alcohol and a balanced palate, able to develop in bottle and evolve at a very slow pace. 1,483 bottles and 215 magnums produced.”

For over a century the Buçaco Palace Hotel has made wines that can age for decades, a blend of Bairrada and Dão. Filipa Pato introduced us to them in the early 2000s. Since they came onto the market in 2008, we have received an allocation every year.
