Mestre Daniel Tinto 2022
Region: Alentejo
Producer: XXVI Talhas
Why we chose this wine
This is a blend of two talhas of around 1000 litres each, together good for some 2000 bottles. This is a wine you have to have tasted: red wine from the Alentejo at its most traditional, full of character. Vinification in amphora gives a much lighter wine than the modern method, and in the warm Alentejo that is all to the good.

Field blend – mainly Aragonez, Trincadeira, Tinta Grossa. Six months on skins, as for all the Mestre Daniel wines.
Mid-to-deep crimson. Deeply scented with cherry fruit. Fresh and bright-fruited, then a little more savoury on the palate, but it is still the red fruit that sings in the glass. Definite tannins, finely textured.
