D'Oliveira Tinta Negra 1997

Region: Madeira

Producer: Pereira D'Oliveira Vinhos Lda.

Why we chose this wine
1997: the year the first Harry Potter book was published. A Madeira from this vintage carries that year within it: a wine that has matured patiently in cask for years.

Tinta Negra Mole
The absolute ruler on the island. About 80% of the total planting is Tinta Negra Mole. You can find them all over the island, but most vineyards are found in the north. The grape is mainly used to produce basic madeira. However, some producers, in which Barbeito is the biggest innovator, are making beautiful wines with this underrated grape! A positive evolution for the future as there is much more production in this variety.

Tinta Negra Mole may be vinified from dry to sweet.
Vintage Madeira 1997, made from the Tinta Negra grape. An authentic, traditionally aged Madeira in the versatile style, with the depth and complexity that only decades of cask ageing can bring. https://www.theportugalcollection.be/web/image/product.template/11086/image_1920?unique=b569dc3
