Eleven degrees of alcohol in the Douro is almost a statement: the valley is hot and the grapes ripen fast. Primata comes out of a lagar with very light extraction and ages in steel, so that the spiced note typical of the region arrives in a very light package. Grapes and wild yeasts, nothing added.

Bucatini all'amatriciana

Dirk Niepoort's impact on the Portuguese wine landscape can hardly be overestimated. When he took over the helm from his father Rolf in 1990, as the 5th generation of the originally Dutch Van der Niepoort family, it was immediately clear that something was about to happen.
