Literally, *Abanico* means "fan"—not the sort of simple paper fan used to beat the summer heat, but the elegant fans made of fine fabric from the Victorian era, which served more as status symbols than as a means of cooling off.Casa da Passarella drew inspiration from the story of a Spanish noblewoman who once lived at the estate and was known for always showing off a hand fan; the name highlights the wine's elegance.
This is a full-bodied white Dão, yet it retains the lovely acidity characteristic of the region, ensuring the wine remains elegant throughout.
