This 'aged at the Quinta' Vintage is unique. All major port houses release their Vintage Port 2 years after harvest. At Vale Meão, they decided to bottle the wine also 2 years after harvest but then aged the bottles on the estate until 2022.Just before they hit the market, all the bottles were re-corked. This makes them easy to open for those who want to drink them now or ready to continue aging in bottle for another 20-30 years. Even though the wine tastes delicious now, the storage potential of this 2001 is still huge.
