Humus Outra Curtimenta 2023
Region: Lisboa
Producer: Humus
'Orange wine', that's this Humus Curtimenta all the way.Rodrigo let the skins of his grapes ferment along with the juice and even added some extra skins from another wine. This allowed him to extract even more phenols and give his wine extra flavour and structure.
As with all his wines, he uses a natural approach to winemaking from A to Z. Only a small amount of sulphite was added at bottling.

Curtimenta means skin contact: the skins ferment along with the juice, and after that the wine ages in oak barrels. That gives a white wine with tannin — you feel grip on the tongue, just as with a red — plus an orange tint and aromas of apricot skin, tea and spice. That is exactly why this bottle is so widely usable: it has the acidity of a white wine and the structure of a light red, and that is what spiced cooking needs.
