Why we chose this wine
Jorge & Sandra had already built up a considerable reputation with their white wine Guru and red wine Pintas when the family domain Quinta de Manoella was suddenly entrusted to them as well. In addition to excellently located vineyards, they also obtained a stock of old port.
Based on those old reserves, they decided to develop their own 20 years old Tawny Porto and came up with a wonderfully complex port.

“The 2022 bottling of the NV 20 Year Old Manoella Tawny Port is an elegant and fresh example that reflects the character of the property, as they want to make Port wines linked to the place (and the vineyard) that show differently. It has a certain lightness—they harvested the grapes earlier—without over-ripeness, and the wine has around 112 grams per liter of sugar, as they don't want to make wines with a lot of sugar.”

Wine & Soul
Wine and Soul started in 2001 as the life's work of Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, both winemakers and then newlyweds. They were determined to make high-level wine and almost immediately succeeded in gaining international recognition for their wine.
