Waar serveer je ’m bij?
The odd one out in this range: pure Chardonnay, in a region where everything revolves around Bical and Maria Gomes. Fermented in new French oak barrels and then aged in used oak. New oak with Chardonnay is a classic Burgundian choice, and on the limestone of Bairrada it works better than you would think: yellow fruit, hazelnut and buttery breadth, with the acidity of the region underneath holding the whole thing upright. Seven years in bottle have absorbed the oak completely.
