Quinta do Vale Meão Colheita 1999

“They are releasing their first Colheita, which is the first Port they produced at the Quinta, sold as 1999 Port Colheita First Edition, produced exclusively from their own grapes and aged in used Port pipas in the Bodega de la Barca Velha, which they use exclusively to age Port. It has a dark amber color and a nose that still shows young, with a mixture of red berries, nuts and spices and almost no volatility. The palate is stunning, with spices and notes of citrus that provide freshness. It's elegant and not too sweet, with some 94 grams of sugar. It's a textbook Colheita of its age, harmonious and balanced, clean and elegant. Next Colheitas might be 2003, 2004... They have a lot of stock, and they are starting to sell the wines 25 years after the harvest. They produced some 2,000 bottles, but they have 4,000 liters of the wine. It was bottled in 2025.”
